Chondrolepis View in CoL discussion

The caterpillars and pupae of the four Chondrolepis spp. documented here are all rather similar, suggesting a homogeneous genus. Although the caterpillars are not especially distinctive compared to others of the Ploetzia group, the pupae are distinctive inasmuch as they are very cylindrical, they are formed in a tightly sealed shelter with little or no white waxy powder, there is no girdle, and the cremaster does not engage with the silk lining of the shelter.
