This subfamily and tribe (and the other discocephaline tribe Ochlerini ) are all primarily neotropical in distribution, with only two genera and four species (listed below) recorded from the very southern parts of the U.S. (but see comments under Discocephalessa notulata ). Rolston (1990) provided a key to the ‘broadheaded’ genera of this tribe, which included both of the genera listed below.
