Biology. This species has been observed by citizen scientists visiting Gaultheria insana (Molina) D.J. Middleton , Tropeolum brachyceras Hook. & Arn. , A. aurea Graham , Berberis linearifolia Phil. According to Devoto & Medan (2006) and Devoto et al. (2006), this nemestrinid fly species have also been recorded visiting flowers of E. coccineum . Recently, fieldworks in plant-pollinator interactions have recorded to T. niveibarbis feed on Trevoa trinervis Miers. and Stachys macreai Benth. (Javiera Chinga, unpublished data).
