Material examined. YEMEN: AL MAHWIT GOV.: 1 spec., Al Ahjur, Badia vill.env., Al Khaltabi waterfall, 15°28.4ʹN, 43°51.5ʹE, 2500 m, 2.xi.2010, J. Hájek leg. SANA’ A GOV.: 12 spec., Sana’a city, Bait Baws, 15°16.3ʹN, 44°12.1ʹE, 2410 m, tank, 6.xi.2010, J. Hájek leg. GoogleMaps ; 7 spec., 5 km SW Matnah vill., 15°13.7ʹN, 43°59.7ʹE, 2750 m, stream, 19.xi.2010, J. Hájek leg. (all NMPC) GoogleMaps .

Habitat. Collected both in running (stream) and stagnant (tank) water bodies. All Yemeni records came from high altitude above 2400 m a.s.l. ( Figs 4–5 View Figs 3–5 ).

Distribution. Widely distributed African species occurring in most areas of southern and eastern Africa and reaching the Arabian Peninsula in the north ( BISTRÖM 1986, HÁJEK & WEWALKA 2009).
