Etymology. The species epithet honors the Colombian biologist Pedro Alberto Galvis Peñuela, for his contribution to my research on Neotropical and Colombian jumping spiders, and for his friendship and support.
Diagnosis. Males of S. albertoi sp. nov. can be recognized from all the remaining species of the genus by the presence of a strongly curved tegular lobe ( Figs 1–3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Females have epigynes similar to that of Scopocira cyrili Costa & Ruiz, 2014, but can be recognized by the larger and more rounded spermathecae ( Figs 6–8 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ).
