Coloration. Body brown. Head dorsum dark brown, but middle of occiput in lighter color. Four rounded regions of vertex positioned between eyes with less hair. Eyes with dark stripes. Pronotal disc dark brown, patterned with lighter color. Anterior portion of angle between dorsal and lateral areas, before the stridulatory vein and the top lateral corner with distal portion of mirror ornamented with a yellow spot. Basal field and its sides, chordal area and the mirror outside dark brown. Apex of hind femur and area behind it with dark brown spots.

Etymology. The specific epithet “ scalpratus ” refers to the upper apical lobes of new species’ epiphallus being acute distally and shaped as a blade.

Diagnosis. Ocellus somewhat convex, lateral ocellus large and rounded, median ocelli semi-rounded. Harp veins six. A false vein present between chord vein and diagonal vein. Sc vein with four branches. Metanotal gland similar to Zvenella acutangulata , but its basal margin sinuate and concave medially, lateral margin strongly convex near the base and apical margin arc-shaped and convex. Anal plate slightly longer, widened at base and extended sideward at an angle. Lateral margin inclined and almost straight. Distal margin somewhat rectangular shaped and slightly pubescent. Median light region longer than wide, its top margin straight, lateral margin arch-shaped and convex and distal part with a notch (short and widened apically). The plate almost without setae except as mentioned above. Epiphallus in profile view with upper process slightly acute and directed cephalad in an acute angle with dorsum of epiphallus. Upper apical lobes acute distally, shaped as blade (distal and bottom edge fused into a gentle curve). Hind lateral lobes widened, the notch between lobes of upper apical and hind lateral arched but widening and asymmetrical laterally. Viewed from behind, upper apical lobes obtuse, lower median notch narrowed and lower apical lobes slightly larger and widened.
