(Figs. I: 3; II: 3a, 3b; III: 3a, 3b; IV: 3a, 3b)

Type material. Holotype male, China: Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Menglun, 646m, 21~ 30 Apr. 1974, coll. Zhou Yao, Yuan Feng and Hu Yinyue ( NWAFU).

Coloration. Body light brown. Head dorsum in dark brown (behind and below eyes in light color), occiput with light color spots. Four hairless rounded regions of vertex located between eyes. Eyes with dark stripe. Pronotal disc dark brown and with a light region shaped as axe. Before stridulatory vein, the top lateral corner and apex of mirror with yellow spots. Veins sometimes colored with dark brown. The dorsum of fore tibiae, main parts of middle tibiae, the apex of hind femur and hind tibiae dark brown. Hind wings and abdomen dark brown.

Measurements. BL 15.82, HW 3, PL 2.26, PW 3.6, FWL 15, HWL 4, HLL 12.2

Etymology. The specific epithet “ aequalis ” refers to this species’ lower apical lobes (arch-shaped) being almost in equal length in its outer and inner branches.

Diagnosis. Ocelli nearly the same size and shaped as wide ovate. Hind wings with cross vein and its uncovered part almost in the same length with apical field of forewings. Harp vein six, CuA1 vein with two branches. Sc vein with six branches. Basal margin of metanotal gland sinuate and slightly concave medially; lateral margin convex at base, but at this part it is interrupted and disconnected from posterior part of lateral margin; distal margin arc-shaped and convex. Keels U-shaped. Long hairs distributed medially and the hair region much larger, basal part of hair area nearly rectangular (but its top corners extend laterally and are angular shaped), lateral margin almost straight, and its apical part fan-shaped (this part extended laterally with arcshaped distal margin). Anal plate nearly hairless, short and trapezoid shaped. The middle light area slightly longer than width and apical notch shaped as angle, short and widened. Epiphallus (slightly damaged in dissection in profile view, upper process thin, almost erect and at right angle with epiphallus dorsum. Upper apical lobes obtuse distally and much widened, with long and straight distal margin which has incision in low part, and with bottom margin very short. Hind lateral lobes narrowed and symmetric. The notch between upper and hind lobes very broadened and its top margin straight. Viewed from behind, upper apical lobes obtuse, lower median notch shortened and narrowed, and lower apical lobes small and arch-shaped in its body (its outer branch as long as the inner, and the inner margin concave).
