TL: India, Assam, Khasi Hills [now in Meghalaya].

Distribution: India (Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Bengal); China (Badong, Jianxi); Indonesia (Java); Malaysia; Myanmar; Nepal; Pakistan; Sumatra; Thailand; Vietnam ( Robinson et al. 1994; Pawan et al. 2008; Nedoshivina 2013).

Hosts: Larvae have been reported to feed on Araucaria cunninghamii (Araucariaceae) , Durio zibethinus (Bombacaceae) , Gloriosa superba (Colchicaceae) , Ipomoea batatas (Convolvulaceae) , Cassia fistula , Acacia nilotica , Medicago sativa , Psophocarpus tetragonolobus , Stylosanthes guianensis , Vigna unguiculata (Fabaceae) , Litsea monopetala , Persea americana (Lauraceae) , Gossypium herbaceum (Malvaceae) , Cedrela toona , Lansium domesticum , Toona ciliata (Meliaceae) , Morus indica (Moraceae) , Jasminum sambac (Oleaceae) , Averrhoa carambola (Oxalidaceae) , Coffea liberica (Rubiaceae) , Citrus sinensis , Citrus medica (Rutaceae) , Santalum album (Santalaceae) , Litchi chinensis , Nephelium lappaceum (Sapindaceae) , Theobroma cacao (Sterculiaceae) , Camellia sinensis (Theaceae) , and Lantana camara (Verbenaceae) ( Robinson et al. 2001; Brown et al. 2008).
