Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Ossaulenko (1936: pl. 3, fig. 17); size not given. stored in the Geological Museum in Kiev ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Bila Krynytsya ( Ukraine) .
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. This name was established by Ossaulenko (1936) for specimens of Potamides taitboutii with moderately prominent spiral cords and largely reduced beads.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Bila Krynytsya (Mykolaiv Region, Ukraine).
