Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Kojumdgieva (1960: pl. 3, fig. 17). We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. Yarlovitsa ( Bulgaria) .
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. The specimens represent a morph of Potamides taitboutii with strongly reduced sculpture.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Dacian Basin: Gomotartsi, Gromshin, Mikhailovo, Oryakhovo, Yarlovitsa ( Bulgaria) (Kojumdgieva 1960); Transcaucasia: Gedzhiri River ( Georgia) ( Badzoshvili 1979).
