( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 1 – 24. 1 )
Ctenucha reimoseri Zerny, 1912b: 124 . Holotype female [by monotypy]: PARAGUAY, San Luis; with two labels: printed label “Reimoser, Paraguay, San Luis” and handwritten label “ Ctenucha reimoseri Zerny type ♀”.
Current combination. Ctenucha reimoseri Zerny, 1912 .
Condition of the type. The left antenna is broken and the wings are slightly rubbed.
Remarks. Zerny (1912) thought that this species was allied to Ctenucha circe ( Cramer, 1780) . Even though this might seem a reasonable hypothesis judging by the figures of C. circe available in the literature ( Cramer 1780, pl. 263, fig. D and pl. 264, fig. E; Draudt 1915, fig. 26 row d), the illustrations do not well match a syntype of C. circe that is deposited in the BMNH. In fact, judging from its habitus, C. circe is likely misplaced in Ctenucha . C. reimoseri , on the other hand, has an habitus sufficiently similar to Ctenucha virginica (Charpentier, 1830) , senior synonym of C. latreillana Kirby, 1837 (type species of Ctenucha ), that it is likely properly placed in that genus.
