Diagnosis (after Larsen 2012; McLelland 2008). Female. Body 3.5 to 6.5 times longer than wide. Eye lobes present and often with visual elements. Antennule three-articled, without bifurcate seta. Left and right mandibles molar often simple, narrow, and pointed. Maxillule endite with eight or nine distal spines. Cheliped carpus with two ventral setae; fixed finger with one ventral seta. Pereopods 2–6 carpus with bayonet or simple spines, without blade-like spines. Pleopods elongated, with only distal setae.
