Remarks. In Mimela vitalisi , the postero-lateral curvature of each elytron is strongly angled. This remarkable character occurs on both sexes, but had been overlooked by Ohaus (1914) and Paulian (1959). This character is also present in M. cariniventris Lin, 1990 from Xizang, China, of which males remain unknown. The two species are highly similar externally except for the smaller body size and larger punctures upon elytra of the latter species.
Distribution. China *: Guangdong, Yunnan; Vietnam: Lai Chau *, Lao Cai.
