Microlaqueus isolatus sp.nov.

Etymology. isola island, - atus (adjectival form).

Description. Brown, with obscure markings: paler on edges of scutellum, venter of head and legs; frons with heavy, dark brown muscle arcs; tegmina marked with white spots on anteapical and costal cells and an arcuate, pale line extending from near apices of clavi towards tips of coria. Head dorsoventrally compressed, almost as long as midline of pronotum ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 8 A) but distinctly narrower than pronotum; crown flat, declivous, coronal margin carinate; antennal ledge elongate ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 24 C), shorter than in Microsargane ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 24 A). Costal margin of hind wing with 4 erect hooks on triangular projection, basal hook standing almost straight up, others becoming progressively more recumbent. Hind tibiae each with double pecten of 8 black-tipped spines, hind tarsal pectens with 6 blacktipped spines on basomere, 5 widely spaced, black-tipped spines on 2nd tarsomere. Male unknown. Length: female 9.0 mm.

Type. Holotype female, JAMAICA: Corn Puss Gap , St. Thomas, 8 May 1955 (T.H. Farr); in UMIA.
