Etymology. cristata (adj.), crested.

Diagnosis. Lateral arms of theca with base crested, wider than unequally forked processes ( Fig. 54 C).

Description. Dorsum marked with yellow bands along margins of crown and pronotum, extending to midlength of claval sutures; frons pale brown, clypellus darker; tegmina dark brown with paler transverse bands across tip, apical cells bearing 2–3 white, lenticular spots, costa with triangular transparent patch adjacent to broad, pale yellow streak and wider preapical red irregular patch. Style bent near base, tip short and hooked ( Fig. 54 E). Length: male 7.3 (holotype) – 8.6 mm, female 7.0–8.0 mm.

Types. Holotype male, COSTA RICA: Manuel Antonio N. Pk., 23 Aug. 1986 (L. Masner), No 21086 in CNCI . Paratypes from COSTA RICA: 1 male, 1 female, Piedr Negra (Schild & Burgdorf) ; 2 males, Atenas (Schild & Burgdorf), 1940, E.D. Ball Collection; all paratypes in NMNH.
