Trocheta cylindrica from the West Carpatians in relation to a population from West Germany

Some populations of the genus Trocheta were reported from several parts of Europe as T. bykowskii in the past. However, the latter species is now considered as a younger synonym of T. cylindrica ( Košel 2004) . The comparison of the reproductive systems of the population from the Taunus Mt. and the population of T. cylindrical from the locus typicus result in the consequence, that the Trocheta ­ population from West Germany clearly differs from T. cylindrica , and thus should be described as T.taunensis n. sp. (see below).
