Description

Shell length, 22 mm, irregularly ovate. Shell height slightly greater than length, shell moderately convex. Attached to hard substrata by the umbonal area of right valve. Shell reddish to purplish brown or pink. Surface ornamented with dense radial ribs. Dorsal ribs become longer and broader than the others and have spatulate ends.

Type locality

‘‘Philippine Islands’’.

Distribution

Indo-Pacific , including Japan and eastern Hong Kong, rocky subtidal 4–20 m.
