According to the original description and photographies, this species collected from Romania does not belong to the Aspicerinae , but to the genus Xyalophora (Figitinae) . Nevertheless, the diagnostic characters to differentiate this species from other Xyalophora species are not mentioned by Ionescu (1969). The type material is deposited in MGAB and it was studied by Dr. M. Forshage (C. R. Ban, pers. com.); according to Forshage annotations (C. R. Ban, pers. com.), this material probably belongs to Xyalophora clavata ( Giraud, 1860) . For the moment, it has not been possible to receive this type material by post, thus we have not been able to study this species yet.
