Playa La Entrega, La Crucecita (15°44’36”N; 96°07’41”W), Apr 8, 1998, 2–3 m, rocks, algae, sand, 2 males (TL 19.0 and 29.6 mm), 4 females (TL 10.4–16.5 mm), and 1 juvenile (TL 9.6 mm) (EMU 8952). Distribution. Isla Ángel de la Guarda and Guaymas, Gulf of California, Mexico, to Isla Gorgona, Colombia ( Salgado-Barragán & Hendrickx 2002; Murillo-Bohórquez & Álvarez-León 2004).
Remarks. Among the diagnostic characters of this species, the absence of spines in the intermediate accessory carinae of the telson is noteworthy. However, the largest male collected in La Audiencia, Colima, features one distal spine on the right carina and it is considered an anomaly. Neogonodactylus stanschi is probably the most common species of stomatopod of the intertidal and shallow subtidal along the Pacific coast of Mexico.
