Tuponia (Chlorotuponia) prasina ( Fieber, 1864) View in CoL ( Figure 9 View FIGURES 1 – 11 )

Agalliastes prasinus Fieber, 1864: 228 View in CoL .

Tuponia gracilipedis Li & Liu, 2016: 112 . New synonymy.

Tuponia gracilipedis was described from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region . According to the original description, this species differs from congeners by the distinctive vesica with a membranous apex and undifferentiated secondary gonopore. The authors stated in the diagnosis that T. gracilipedis is similar to T. prasina View in CoL , but the latter species differs in having entirely sclerotized vesica. However the authors did not studied any material attributed to T. prasina View in CoL and apparently misinterpreted the figures 65–66 published by Drapolyuk (1982). Tuponia prasina View in CoL is one of the most common and widely distributed species of the subgenus Chlorotuponia spanning from Central and Southern Europe to Mongolia and Northwestern China including Xinjiang Uygur Prov. ( Konstantinov & Vinokurov, 2011). It can be easily distinguished from all other species of the genus Tuponia View in CoL by the simple, apically membranous vesica and fits the Li & Liu’s concept of T. gracilipedis in all other respects including the shape of the phallotheca and parameres, sizes and color pattern.
