Psammodesmus calius ( Chamberlin, 1952) View in CoL

Platyrrhacus calius Chamberlin, 1952: 579 View in CoL , 581, fig. 45 (original description); Sierwald et al. 2005: 39 (type information; as P. callius ).

Psammodesmus calius: Jeekel 1963: 90 View in CoL (combination); Martínez-Torres 2016: 66, Anex. 7 figs 26, 37C, 38C, 39C, 40C, 41C, 42C, 43C, 44C, 45C (description; distribution).

Types: ♂ holotype from Colombia: Cali; H. Dybas leg., 30-VI-1947. Deposited at the FMNH, cat. no. FMNH- INS-916 ( Sierwald et al. 2005; Martínez-Torres 2016).

Distribution: Colombia, Dep. Valle del Cauca.

Comments: In the original description the species names appears both as Platyrrhacus calius (P. 579) and Platyrhacus callius (p. 581). The second combination seems, as indicated by Jeekel (1963), an obvious misprint, as could be the different spellings of the genus. Curiously, Chamberlin's handmade label for the holotype uses a different specific name, " orthogon ".
