Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) athenae [sic]— Chant & McMurtry, 2007: 152. Specimens collected. Five females on Olea europaea L. ( Oleaceae ) in Alcamo (Palermo, Italy) (37°97’83.9”N, 12°96’86”E), on 09/09/2017.
Known distribution. Greece, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia.
Measurements (3 females)
Dorsum. Dorsal shield 340 (334–345) long, 188 (177–192) wide at level of waist and 189 (184–196) at level of S2; reticulated, with five solenostomes (gd2, gd4, gd6, gd8, gd9) and 14 pairs of poroids, 18 pairs of dorsal setae and two pairs of sub-lateral setae: j1 23 (22–25); j3 25 (24–28); j4 17; j5 17 (16–18); j6 20; J2 25; J5 10; z2 20; z3 26 (25–26); z4 24 (23–24); z5 17 (16–17); Z4 44 (41–47); Z5 53 (50–55); s4 26 (25–28); s6 31 (30–34); S2 32 (31–35); S4 30 (30–31); r3 27 (25–28); R1 24 (23–25). All setae smooth, except Z4 and Z5 serrated. Peritreme extending forwards to the bases of the setae j3 or between the setae j3–z2.
Ventral idiosoma. Sternal shield smooth with three pairs of setae (st1, st2, st3), almost quadrate (st1–st1 60, st3–st3 65, st1–st3 60–62); setae st4 tylochorous (on platelets). Genital shield smooth with a small indentation posterior to setae st5. Posterior margin straight. Genital sigilla (1–3 pairs) visible. The 4 th and 5 th pairs of genital sigilla, thin, sometimes visible between the bases of the setae ZV1. The 6 th pair of sigilla small, postero-paraxial to the bases of the setae ZV1. Ventrianal shield with four pairs of pre-anal setae, JV1, JV2, JV3 and ZV2 and no pre-anal solenostome (gv3). Length of the ventrianal shield 110 (105–112), width at level of setae ZV2 85 (83–87), at level of setae JV2 77 (76–79), at level of setae JV3 77 (70–79) and at level of para-anal setae 64 (61–67). Setae JV5 36 (35–36) long.
Chelicera. Fixed digit 26 (25–27) long with three teeth, and the apical tooth; movable digit 24 (24–25) long, with one subapical tooth.
Legs chaetotaxy. Genu II with seven setae, 2 2/0 2/0 1; Legs IV with a knobbed macroseta on basitarsus, STIV 40 (38–50) long.
Insemination apparatus. Major duct cylindrical, 30 long. Receptaculum sometimes visible. Calyx cup-shaped, small, 10 (9–11) long and 7 (6–7) wide. Atrium differentiated, inserted within the calyx. Minor duct sometimes visible.
