Family Sididae Baird, 1850
7. Latonopsis australis Sars, 1888 s .lat. Recorded by Álvarez (2010); Villabona-González et al. (2011) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 2). Valid species, distributed in the tropics and subtropics of the western and eastern hemispheres ( Korovchinsky 2004; Van Damme & Dumont 2010; Kotov et al. 2013b), it is in reality a complex of cryptic species ( Korovchinsky 2004; Elías-Gutiérrez et al. 2008b) and needs to be revised worldwide. In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region.
8. Pseudosida bidentata Herrick, 1884. Recorded by Stingelin (1913, figs 4–6); Pearse (1916); Barón- Rodríguez et al. (2006) and Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011). Valid Neotropical species distributed from Argentina to U.S.A. ( Korovchinsky 2004). In Colombia, it has been reported from the Andean and Amazon regions.
9. Sida crystallina ( O.F. Müller, 1776) s. lat. Recorded by Stingelin (1913, figs 1-3). S. crystallina s.str. is a Palearctic species ( Korovchinsky 2004). Similar forms have been sometimes reported from the Neotropical region ( Stingelin 1913; Rodríguez-Almaraz & Leija-Tristán 1995; Elías-Gutiérrez et al. 2008b). Populations from the Neotropics should be revised and likely this species could be Sida americana Korovchinsky, 1979 which is common in North America ( Korovchinsky 2004), or a similar taxon. In Colombia, it occurs in the Andean region.
10. Sarsilatona serricauda (Sars, 1901) . Recorded by Barón-Rodríguez et al. (2006); Álvarez (2010); Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 4). According to Korovchinsky (1992) it is a Neotropical species, but it has been also reported from the Nearctic zone ( Korovchinsky 2004). In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean and Andean regions.
