Material examined: Bulgaria: BG8 Southern Pirin, the higher part of Kalimanska river near village Vodenica, 600 m asl., 16.08.2002, leg. Pesic (1/0/0).

Paratyp, male Paratyp, female male male Remarks: Generally, e.g. with regard to the variability of idiosoma, ejaculatory complex, ratio CAc L/W, and ratio stalk L/ L of CAc, populations of Protzia cf. rotunda s ensu Gerecke, agree well with the «typical» populations of P. ro t u n d a. The specimen from Bulgaria is assigned to P. cf. rotunda and differs from typical of the P. rotunda due to the higher number of medial clawlets, 78 ( 56 in P. ro t u n d a; in specimens of P. cf. rotunda from Southern Italy, 713, in most cases 910 [from Gerecke, 1996b]).
