Diagnosis. Recognized by its moderate size; mottled dark-brown dorsum ( Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4 B–C); labium short, slightly over metacoxa. In Korea, P. ohataensis is externally very similar to this species, but the latter can be distinguished from the former by the antennal segment III shorter than basal width of pronotum, more elongated lobal sclerite ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ), oblong, medially adjacent sclerotized rings of female genitalia ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 ). Distribution. Japan, Korea.
Host plant. Pinus densiflora Sieb. & Zucc (Pinaceae) ( Yasunaga & Schwartz, 2015).
