Body length 2.4 mm. Bristles yellow. Acrostichal bristle absent. Notum light yellow with scutellum brown (sometimes only on distal half), laterotergites brown lateral to scutellum (faded in Brazilian male) and posterior suture of anepisternum brown; faded mottling anterior to suture in Brazilian specimens. Legs light yellow with fore coxa white. Head predominantly light yellow above level of antenna (including antenna without arista) and white below; one pair of lateral brownish spots present behind head; ocellar spot brown. Abdomen dark brown, excluding tergite 1 and cerci, which are light yellow. Wing lightly clouded on distal 1/3 from costa to M 1.

Externally as described for C. concinna except as follows: hypandrial arm 1.3 times length of hypandrium+pregonite; pregonite with two strong medial bristles, two medial patches of setulae, and with numerous setulae along distal margin; distiphallus sac­like, approximately two times length of hypandrial arm, straight basally, and with lightly sclerotized distal sections.

Etymology: The specific name refers to the predominantly yellow notum. Distribution: Brazil, Peru (Map 10). Holotype: PERU. Loreto: Iquitos (14km W), 21.ii.1984, W.N. Mathis (1♂, USNM). Paratypes: BRAZIL. Estado Mato Grosso, road B 080, W' Rio Xingu, rainforest, near water, human excrement, aspirated, 9.iii.1986, M. v.Tschirnhaus (1♀ 1♂, ZSMC). PERU. Same collection as holotype (1♂, DEBU).
