Type species: Adelungia elegans Melichar, 1902 View in CoL , by monotypy.
Diagnosis. Head of imago with short or enlarged compressed process directed at nearly right angle to horizontal plane of the head ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURE 2 , 5A–B View FIGURE 5 ). Aedeagus without lateral processes basally; aedeagal shaft cylindrical, not serrated, with pair of subapical denticles ( Mozaffarian & Gnezdilov 2022, figs 18 a–b, 19 a–b).
Species composition. Two species, A. elegans Melichar and A. primigena Dlabola differing from each other by the shape and size of the head process ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURE 2 , 5A–B View FIGURE 5 ).
Distribution. The genus is limited to southeastern Iran in distribution ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ).
