Description. Male. Head: eye bridge 3–4 facets wide. Antenna rough and brown; 4th flagellomere ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E) about 2.7X as long as wide, with distinct neck, setae as long as width of base. Maxillary palpus ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D) two-segmented (second and third segments were fused), basal segment with 3–4 setae and a small patch of sensilla, sensilla long and curved.

Thorax ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 G): dark brown, with very short and fine setae. Posterior pronotum with setae. Scutum with sparse dark setae. Scutellum with 4 strong setae. Katepisternum slightly wider than high. Wing ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C) brown; posterior veins and wing membrane clearly without macrotrichia; stem of M 1.1–1.2X longer than M-fork; x = 1.0–1.2X length of y, 3 setae on y dorsally; stem of CuA = 1/ 2X length of x; vein R1 = 4/ 5X length of R; R4+5 with macrotrichia dorsally and apicoventrally; vein C = 2/ 3X length of w. Halter short stemmed and brown. Leg pale yellow; apex of foretibia with dense group of setae ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 F); claws untoothed.

Abdomen: genitalia ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A, 4) brown, 2.5X wider than high, and without basal lobe or ventral groups of setae; base of gonocoxite semi-circular. Gonostylus ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B) short and thickened, less than 2X as long as broad, trapezoid; medial inner side with 4 hyaline spines, 2 spines on lobus in subapical part and 2 spines on lobus in swollen medial inner surface. Tegmen membranous, rounded, and as high as wide, tegmen structures present (semi-circular aedeagal margin). Aedeagus short and very weakly sclerotized.

Body length: 1.9–2.2 mm.

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype male. KOREA: Seoul, Noweon-gu, Sanggye-dong, Mt. Suraksan, 37°41'N 127°04'E, 230 m a.s.l., 15–21.viii.2009, leg. J. Lim.

Paratypes. KOREA: Gyeunggi-do, Suwon-si, Gwonseon-gu, Seodun-dong, Mt. Yeogi, Malaise trap, 8.v.1995, leg. J. Choi ( 1♂); 4.ix.1995, leg. J. Choi ( 2♂).

Habitat. Unknown.

Distribution. Only known from Korea.

Remarks. This species is similar to C. (s. str.) freemani Menzel & Mohrig, 2000 in the shape of the maxillary palpus and genitalia. However, the new species is easily distinguished by the medial inner side of gonostylus possessing distinctly separated lobes, with a pair of spines on each lobe ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B, 4).

Etymology. - ensis (Latin) = a suffix denoting place, locality or country. This species is named after the locality where the species was first collected, Suwon-city.
