Ariasa nigrovittata Distant 1905: 314 View in CoL (type material in BMNH).
Type locality. Central Brazil, Chapada ( Brazil), and Bolivia.
Remarks. The large proportion of black on the head and mesothorax along with the transverse black fascia on the anterior pronotal collar are unique to the species within the genus. The species has been associated with the Chaco floristic province in Argentina (Sanborn, et al. 2011a; Sanborn & Heath 2014) being collected over much of the north-central region of the country ( Sanborn & Heath 2014).
Distribution. Specimens have been reported previously from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil ( Metcalf 1963; Sanborn 2013; Sanborn & Heath 2014), and Paraguay ( Sanborn 2011b).
