Laximicracis convexa (Schedl, 1962)
( Figs 6, 9, 12 View FIGURES 4–12 )
Afromicracis convexus Schedl, 1962 View in CoL (original spelling)
Type material. Holotype, sex? [ South Africa] Natal.
Diagnosis, sex?. Length 2.7 mm, 2.6 × as long as wide, colour reddish brown. Frons slightly concave, strongly setose, setae fluffy, soft; epistoma with a low, short, longitudinal keel. Pronotum gently curved anteriorly from posterior fourth, its surface finely granulated, barely visible under densely placed, short fluffy setae, appearing variegated. Elytral interstriae with multiple rows of confused short fluffy setae, strial setae fine, short, erect. Protibiae broad, parallel-sided, with two or three transversely set denticles at apical margin.
Distribution. South Africa.
Remarks. Only known from the holotype. It shares similar traits with L. latipes in the setae of interstriae 1, the broad and flattened pronotum which has only small granules, and the fluffy setae in the frons. The antennae are missing from the unique holotype, but presumably of the similar type as in L. latipes .
