Paraleuctra sara (Claassen) View in CoL is the only member of this Holarctic and Oriental genus known from eastern North America. This species is distributed from the Canadian Maritime Provinces and Ontario south to Tennessee and South Carolina, with a western extension through Indiana and Kentucky ( Stark & Kyzar 2000; Grubbs 2004). This species was collected recently from Talladega National Forest, representing a new state record and a southwestern range extension along the Appalachian Mountains.
