Genus Phasmatocoris Breddin, 1904 View in CoL
Wygodzinsky (1966) provided a detailed generic level redescription of Phasmatocoris , and recognized Rothbergia McAtee & Malloch, 1925 and Myiagreutes Bergroth, 1911 as junior synonyms of the former. Pape (2013) and Gil- Santana (2015) added minor modifications to its description.
Phasmatocoris View in CoL can be separated from other genera of Emesini View in CoL by the following combination of characters: ocelli absent; pronotum more or less constricted between fore and hind lobes, but not pedunculate; scutellum elevated but not spined; metanotum with or without a spine; tarsi three-segmented; wings fully developed; forewings with three closed cells (basal, subbasal and discal cells) ( Wygodzinsky 1966, Forero 2004).
