Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of appressed mostly dibrachiate hairs, leaflets 5–15, usually alternate, 8.5 × (2–)3–17(–25) × 5(–6.5) cm, elliptic or oblong, inflorescence (3–)5–20(–30) cm long, a few- to many-flowered thyrse, petals (4–)5(–6), 3–4 mm long, usually fused for 1/3–2/3 their length, becoming reflexed, valvate, filaments completely fused in a staminal tube, margin with acute to subulate lobes, anthers (6–)8–10, nectary absent, ovary densely strigose, (2–)3(–4)-locular, locules with 2 collateral ovules, capsule 1.6–2.4 cm long, (2–)3(–4)-valved, broadly ellipsoid, ovoid or obovoid, usually smooth, sericeous to tomentose, seeds 1–2, completely surrounded by a thin arillode.
