With three-tined palp tarsal claw ( Digamasellidae and Teranyssidae with two-tined palp tarsal claw); with seta st 4 on sternal shield ( Halolaelapidae with seta st 4 on separate metasternal platelets or on the soft integument posterior to sternal shield); genital shield with a pair of setae and separate from ventrianal or anal shield; generally with ventrianal shield, bearing 1–9 pairs of preanal setae (some Halolaelapidae and Teranyssidae with anal shield, bearing only circumanal setae).
