Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime: AB single record.
General distribution: Northern, southern Italy; Italian, Swiss, Austrian Alps, southern France; semicosmopolitan.
Habitat preferences: xerophilous, lichenicolous. All stages of this species mine in lichens and are rarely found outside of lichens ( Grandjean 1951).
