Genus Euurobracon Ashmead, 1900 View in CoL View at ENA
Euurobracon Ashmead, 1900: 140 View in CoL . Type species: Bracon penetrator Smith, 1877 (nec. Smith, 1863). Delmira Cameron, 1900: 87. Type species: Delmira triplagiata Cameron. Synonymized by Baltazar, 1961: 391. Exobracon Szepligeti, 1902: 45. Type species: Bracon quadriceps Smith, 1861 (nec. Smith, 1858). Synonymized by Roman,
1913: 45.
Lissobracon Cameron, 1905: 103. Type species: Lissobracon forticornis Cameron. Synonymized by Roman, 1913: 45.
Diagnosis. Antennae 50–80-segmented, flagellar segments square. Terminal flagellomere robust, usually subconical, sometimes distinctly acuminate, occasionally fused or partly fused with the penultimate flagellomere. Scapus small, longer dorsally than ventrally, not apico-laterally or apico-medially emarginate. Mandibles large, more or less strongly twisted anteriorly. Clypeus without ridge or carina. Face shallow, rather flat. Eyes glabrous. Frons rather flat, with a mid-longitudinal sulcus and with densely setose at least postero-laterally. Head rather cubicoid.
Mesosoma largely smooth and shiny, locally punctate. Pronotum with a distinctly crenulate transverse groove anteriorly but largely smooth laterally. Notauli only distinct on the anterior 0.25× of the mesoscutum (except in E. interstitialis Quicke, 1989 ). Mesoscutum largely smooth, with setosity along the line of the notauli and usually with a setose area mid-posteriorly. Scutellar sulcus totally smooth. Propodeum more or less densely setose.
Fore wing vein 1-SR+M weakly and evenly curved at middle. Fore wing vein cu-a strongly postfurcal and inclivous except in E. interstitialis Quicke, 1989 . Fore wing vein 3-CU1 often strongly thickened posteriorly. Hind wing vein 1r-m longer than SC+R1. Base of hind wing largely setose.
Fore tibia with one spur, somewhat swollen; antero-laterally more or less densely covered with either thick setae or spines. Claws very slender, simple, with the basal lobe reduced to a small basal protruding.
Metasoma largely smooth and shiny. First metasomal tergite with dorsal carinae, these sometimes rather lamelliform and folded over to form a pit anteriorly; dorso-lateral carinae absent. Second metasomal tergite with a sub-lateral, longitudinal groove on either side, close to the margin. Second metasomal suture smooth, usually straight or sometimes weakly curved medially. Third metasomal tergite with or without distinct antero-lateral areas defined posteriorly by antero-lateral, posteriorly diverging smooth furrows. Third to fifth metasomal tergites without transverse sub-posterior grooves. Ovipositor length variable, ranging from 0.7 to 14.6× fore wing length, the apex with a distinct dorsal nodus and ventral serrations.
Male. Antenna longer, markedly more expanded distally. Eyes much larger. Hind wing vein 2-SC+R not transverse. First metasomal tergite relatively longer and narrower. Transverse median grooves of second to fifth metasomal tergites much better developed.
