Notes on Taeniothrips View in CoL species
The 24 non-fossil species of Taeniothrips were discussed by Mound et al. (2012) with a key to species, although that key indicated that some nominal species remain weakly defined from each other. In particular, both picipes and major may have much wider distributions around the northern hemisphere than is currently recognised, thus leading potentially to further synonymies. Subsequently, Kumar & Tyagi (2014) described a further species from northern India.
