Harpalus (Ophonus) sericatus Tschitschérine, 1906: 255 View in CoL . Type locality: "Betw. Sin-pu-guan and Tun-khia", Sichuan, China.

Type material. Lectotype: ♂, labeled "Mzhd. Sin-pu-guan i Tun-khia 12.VIII.93 Potanin" [in Cyrillic], " Sericatus m., typ., Tschitscherin det." ( ZIN). Paralectotypes: 2 ♀, labeled "Mzhd. Ku-chang i Sing-pu-guan 24.VIII.93, Potanin", " Sericatus m., Typ., Tschitscherin det." ( ZIN).

Additional material examined. China. 2 ♂, SICHUAN, Venchuan env., 27.IV.–19.V.1995, Vl. Beneš leg. (cWR).

Diagnosis. This species is very similar in external characters and male genitalia to H. davidi , but differs from the latter in having elytra mat, pubescent on two lateral intervals and with impunctate, superficial striae, protibia with three ventroapical spines, median lobe of aedeagus with smaller basal bulb, smaller apical capitulum and internal sac with medial patch of smaller spines ( Figs 50–51 View FIGURES 48 – 51 ). Metafemur has five to seven setigerous pores along posterior margin. Body length 11.6–12.8 mm.

Distribution. Known only from Sichuan, China ( Kataev et al. 2003).
