Mordellistena fuscipennis (Melsheimer, 1846)

Eight individuals were reared from decayed hardwood pieces in Tennessee ( Ferro et al. 2012), new host record.

Mordellistena limbalis (Melsheimer, 1846)

This species was collected by beating dead hardwood branches in Indiana (Downie and Arnett 1996), which may be incidental. Larval habits are unknown.

Mordellistena liturata (Melsheimer, 1846)

This species was reared from freshly cut swamp white oak ( Quercus bicolor Willd. ) logs in Indiana (n = 6, Powell et al. 2016; G. S. Powell, in litt.). Additionally, a single specimen emerged from a moderately decayed loblolly pine log in Mississippi ( Ulyshen et al. 2020), new host record.

Mordellistena masoni Liljeblad, 1918

A single specimen emerged from a one-monthold loblolly pine log in South Carolina (M. D. Ulyshen, personal observation), new host record. Mordellistena militaris LeConte, 1862

Seven individuals were reared from moderately decayed loblolly pine logs in Mississippi ( Ulyshen et al. 2020), new host record.

Adults were collected by beating dead limbs of hardwood trees (Downie and Arnett 1996), which may be incidental. Larval habits are unknown.

Mordellistena picipennis Smith, 1882

This species is known to breed in chestnut ( Castanea Mill. ; Fagaceae ) ( Liljeblad 1945).

Mordellistena tosta LeConte, 1862

This species was reared from alder ( Alnus Mill. ; Betulaceae ) in Pennsylvania ( Liljeblad 1945). Additionally, five individuals were reared from moderately decayed loblolly pine logs in Mississippi ( Ulyshen et al. 2020), new host record.

Mordellistena trifasciata (Say, 1826)

Two specimens emerged from a sweetgum ( Liquidambar styraciflua L.; Altingiaceae ) log, dead for 11 months, in South Carolina (Ulyshen and Hanula 2009), new host record.
