Heteromysis thailandica View in CoL Fukuoka & Murano, 2002
Type locality. Andaman Sea , Thailand ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .
Record from Thailand. South-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).
Habitat and depth. Marine, depth: 81 m ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .
Distribution. So far, this species is only known from the south-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).
Remarks. This species is very similar to H. macropsis , however, both of them can be distinguished based on the following characteristics: in H. thailandica , (1) the carpopropodus of the endopod of the fourth thoracic limb comprised of four articles, (2) uropodal endopod is armed with 13 spines along the inner margin, and (3) the spines on each side of the telson cleft are located in the proximal three-fifths. In H. macropsis , we find (1) five carpopropodus articles at the fourth thoracic limb, (2) 8 spines along the inner margin uropodal endopod, and (3) the entire length of the telson cleft is armed with spines ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).
