Afrotropical: 1) Botswana, 2) Namibia, 3) South Africa (Walker et al. 2000, Kolonin 2009, Horak et al. 2018).

Walker et al. (2000) listed an unconfirmed record of Rhipicephalus theileri from Zimbabwe, a country that is not included within the geographic distribution of this tick.
