Afrotropical: 1) Cameroon, 2) Central African Republic, 3) Gabon, 4) Rwanda ( Elbl & Anastos 1966 b, Kolonin 2009, Pourrut et al. 2011, Uilenberg et al. 2013).

Ixodes rageaui was described from specimens originally described as Ixodes schillingsi .
