Afrotropical: 1) Malawi, 2) South Africa ( Kolonin 2009).

Walker (1991) and Horak et al. (2018) listed Ixodes bakeri as an endemic South African species, but Ixodes bakeri was described from a female specimen collected in Malawi ( Arthur & Clifford 1961, Clifford et al. 1976).
