(Myrtaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(4): 350. 1922. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Taai Uen (i.e. Dawei), 26 October 1921, F. A. McClure 1294 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 7678) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00069407 image!).

McClure 7678 was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Eugenia maclurei Merr. ( Merrill, 1922a) . However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A is 1294, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 7678. Thus, the collecting number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
