New Records: Nantou, Neimoupu, ex funnel trap, 28.xii.2004 (C. S. Lin) (1); Taipei, Yang Ming Shan, Ta Tun Shan, 500–650m, 1.v.2002 (H. Gebhardt) (2) .

Hosts: Unknown.

Taxonomy: This species is listed under Xyleborus in the Wood and Bright catalog (1992), but has the morphological characteristics of Ambrosiophilus Hulcr and Cognato ( Hulcr & Cognato 2009), and is therefore transferred to that genus. The holotype (NHML) has been examined.
