Xyleborus interjectus Blandford, 1894b: 576 .

Distribution: From the Indian subcontinent and southern China through Southeast Asia and Indonesia to the Philippines, New Guinea and Solomon Is., Taiwan. Imported to and established in Hawai’i. [4]

Hosts: Polyphagous. In Taiwan, 13 genera in 10 families are listed by Murayama (1934a). Also recorded in Taiwan from Brownea sp. (Leguminosae) by Huang et al. (2003).

Biology: The biology and gallery system are described by Beeson (1930), Browne (1961) and Kalshoven (1959).

Taxonomy: We have examined a specimen (TARI) determined and recorded by Strohmeyer (1912) as Xyleborus validus Eichhoff , and find that it should be referred to E.interjectus .
