Simulium (Nevermannia) ledangense Ya’cob, Takaoka & Sofian-Azirun, 2014: 228–236 (Female, male, pupa and larva)
This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected from Mt. Ledang, Johor (Ya’cob et al., 2014). It is distinguished from S. (N.) feuerborni and related species of the S. feuerborni species-group by female tergites 2 and 5–7 shiny, and pupal gill with a long stalk of the ventral paired filaments five times as long as the interspiracular trunk, and the cocoon without an anterodorsal projection.
The aquatic stages breed only in small streams at high elevation (ca. 1,000 m) of Mt. Ledang.
