Distribution. Bhutan, India, China and Thailand (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan and Prae Provinces) ( Mizunuma & Nagai 1994; Krajcik 2003; Pinratana & Maes 2003; Fujita 2010; Huang & Chen 2017).

Remarks. This species was reported from northern Thailand by Mizunuma & Nagai (1994) and Pinratana & Maes (2003). Later, Fujita (2010) reported the population from northern Thailand as Aegus sp. Based on the examination of the specimens from several locations in the northern Thailand, we suggest that individuals from this region might represent an undescribed species in A. linealis complex, evidenced by the differences on the mandible and pronotum. Further investigations are needed based on the comparison to the type specimens of species in A. linealis complex.
