Perrona perron View in CoL group
This group comprises Perrona descendens ( Hilber, 1879) , Perrona floriana ( Hilber, 1879) , Perrona ilonae nov. nom., Perrona loetschi nov. sp., Perrona louisae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) , Perrona sabinae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) and Perrona vindobonensis (Quenstedt, 1884) , which we consider to form a monophyletic group. All species are characterized by medium-sized, solid, moderately broad fusiform shells with gradate spire. Morphologically the Perrona descendens group includes also the extant Perrona perron ( Gmelin, 1791) and therefore this group represents ‘true’ Perrona .
