TYPES: Male holotype, female allotype, and male paratype taken at an elevation of 1800 m at Huacapistana , Junín, Peru (July 27–30, 1965; P., B. Wygodzinsky), deposited in AMNH (PBI_OON 104) .
ETYMOLOGY: The specific name is a patronym in honor of Pedro Wygodzinsky, one of the collectors of the type series.
DIAGNOSIS: Males can be recognized by the long embolus, which is expanded at about one-fourth its length and has a rounded tip (figs. 229, 231), females by the very heavily sclerotized anterior genitalic elements (figs. 236–238).
MALE (PBI_OON 104, figs. 224–232): Total length 2.29. Elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate. Chilum large, triangular. Paturon with sharply pointed, ventrally directed projection on ventral edge of anterior ledge, inner margin with heavily sclerotized, dorsally directed spine reaching to tip of chilum. Endites anteriorly with two wide, clawlike processes. Leg spination: femur I p0- 0-2; tibiae I, II v4-4-2; metatarsi: I v2-2-1p,
II v2-2-0. Palps symmetrical; embolus sword shaped, laterally expanded at about onefourth its length.
FEMALE (PBI_OON 104, figs. 233–238): Total length 2.65. Postepigastric scutum covering about one-third of abdomen length, fused to epigastric scutum. Leg spination: femora I, II p0-0-2; tibiae I, II v4-4-2; metatarsi: I v2-2-2, II v2-2- 1p. Anterior genitalic process heavily sclerotized, mushroom shaped, sclerotization situated posteriorly within atrium.
